RoMoVi - Modular and Cooperative Robot for Vineyards

The RoMoVi aims to solve the fundamental problem of hillside vineyards, which present extreme operating conditions (great slopes terrain and thermal ranges, difficult access, etc.), and the need for a lot of labor, resulting in very high production costs. Thus, the aim is to develop a platform that is simultaneously low-cost and extremely modular and versatile, to be able to integrate the most diverse types of payload, both sensors  as actuators. 
 
RoMoVi will allow you to a profound paradigm shift in the wine sector towards the "intelligent automation" of hillside vineyards and will also, promote Portuguese-based technologies in a sector with high economic potential and territorial appreciation.
 
Its main objective is the development of a robotic robot. robust, modular and extensible, formonitoring and logistics operations and that allows in the future to provide commercial solutions for hillside vineyards , capable of autonomously executing other operations, such as:
 
    • Selective harvest
    • Grass growth control
    • Spraying and Fertilizing autonomously
    • Weeding, pruning, topping and pre-pruning
