RETINA – Integration of LIDAR photonic technologies and instantaneous spectral imagers to increase multimodal perception in precision applications
The project RETINA intends to define a holistic framework for the development of photonic technologies, in which specific efforts in Next-generation hardware solutions - centered on a new LIDAR solution and low-cost CMOS, InGaAs and QDs instantaneous spectral imagers - will be associated with the industry. creation of a digital infrastructure for the agile and efficient development of perception algorithms based on machine learning (machine learning). Therefore, this project aims to demonstrate how direct collaboration between creators and manufacturers of photonic solutions, experts in data processing and AI, as well as leading technology companies strategic sectors, can guide the agile development of personalized sensory systems and their deployment and validation in operational environments.
O RETINA ; It will also show the potential for adaptability, scalability and transferability of photonics-based solutions, responding to a series of industrial needs in an efficient and profitable way. Thus, this project's main objective is to develop two new sensory systems based on photonics, encompassing hardware and software solutions for satisfy the personalized and high added value needs of the Health, Automotive and Winemaking sectors .
